Message from the President

We cultivate individuals who can thrive in various fields of society through hands-on learning.

In April 2027, Shitennoji University will take a major step forward by launching two new majors. The Major in Health and Sports, housed within the Department of Human Welfare in the Faculty of Social Sciences, will focus on the study of sports from the perspectives of health in relation to welfare and the promotion of physical and mental well-being. The Major in Life Business, located within the Department of Business Administration in the Faculty of Business Administration, will focus on learning how to develop business ventures while connecting with diverse people through everyday items such as fashion, interior design, and food.

While we continue to maintain a strong track record in teacher training within the Faculties of Education, Arts, and Sociology, as well as in nurse training within the Faculty of Nursing, we have recently established a new transfer program from the Child Education Department of the Junior College to the Early Childhood Education Course in the Faculty of Education. Additionally, we have opened the Childcare Practice Center as a practical training facility for both the university and junior college, focusing on the training of childcare workers and kindergarten teachers—essential workers—across both institutions.

We are also increasingly strengthening our regional partnerships with local governments, businesses, and organizations, primarily in the surrounding area. As a university that equips students with practical skills to thrive in the society, we will continue to grow and develop.

In April 2027, we plan to establish two majors—the Major in Social Welfare and the Major in Health and Sports—within the Department of Human Welfare in the Faculty of Sociology, and a Major in Life Business within the Department of Business Administration in the Faculty of Business Administration (currently in the planning stages).

President
