February, 2020 Study Abroad Preparation アメリカ英語研修 最終事前研修
In January, students from the education department got together to prepare for their trip to San Rafael, California.
This trip, held each year in February, gives students an opportunity to immerse themselves in a predominantly English-speaking (American) culture. Over four weeks our students stay with host families, and use English to teach young American learners about Japanese culture. This year, students chose to teach how to play karuta, paper sumo, and face-matching.
The students involved in this program also have chances to travel by themselves. Last years’ students told stories about their trips from San Rafael to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Yosemite National Park. They also gave suggestions on what kinds of gifts to bring, and how to mingle with locals.
